Support Worker (38.5 - 44 hours)

Responsibilities
- Experience working within a mental health environment
- Good working knowledge of the Mental Health Order (1986)
- Understanding of current approaches to mental health practice
- Ability to collaborate positively with a challenging resident group
- Ensure care plans are comprehensive and understandable by the resident
- Support, encourage, and prompt residents with their medication
- Accurately maintain documentation both manually and electronically
- Ensure house rules are kept and adhered to, providing a safe environment
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and visitors
- Assist residents with booking and attending appointments
- Support residents in daily tasks: self‑care, shopping, and household tasks
- Promote residents to develop their skills and increase their independence
Qualifications
- Required: An understanding of current approaches to mental health practice.
- Required: Awareness of the local services available to those with mental health needs.
- Required: Understanding of types of mental health illnesses and the level of care residents will require.
- Required: Caring, empathetic and compassionate nature.
- Desired: Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
