About the Role

Assist in preparing nutritious meals for residents at Milesian Manor Lifestyle Care Home. Ensure dietary requirements, food safety standards and kitchen hygiene are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and cook meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) for residents.
  • Cater to individual dietary requirements, including allergens and health-related restrictions.
  • Design a variety of well-balanced, appealing, and nutritious menus.
  • Collaborate with residents and management to develop weekly or monthly menus, ensuring variety and nutritional value.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely meal service.
  • Maintain stock control, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food supplies.
  • Minimise food waste and manage budgets effectively.
  • Adhere to food safety standards (proper handling, preparation, storage).
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas, equipment and utensils.
  • Engage with residents to gather feedback and understand preferences.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive dining experience for residents.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum three years experience in a similar role.
  • Food Hygiene & COSHH training.
  • Good general health – medically fit.
