Registered Staff Nurse – Ratheane Care Home
Location: Ratheane Private Nursing Home, 58 Mountsandel Road.
At Macklin Care Homes, the Ratheane Care Home (Coleraine) is recruiting a Registered Staff Nurse. This vital role works as part of a team to deliver excellent care to much‑loved residents.
This position will be responsible for delivering excellence in care in compliance with company, NMC, RQIA, and HSCT requirements. The role includes developing tailored care plans, collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams, administering medicines, maintaining resident records, and providing professional support to care staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, eating and mobility.

Essential Criteria
- Assisting residents with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, eating and mobility.
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, or RNLD) with a current, active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Current PREPP, Primary Nursing, Care Planning, and the Patients Charter dealing with problems associated with the elderly.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including RQIA, HSCT, and health and safety guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload efficiently while maintaining high standards of care.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient‑centred approach to care.
- Commitment to promoting and safeguarding the well‑being of residents.
- Ability to work set hours and be flexible to meet the needs of the organisation.
- Must have a good command of written and spoken English and a valid work permit.
- Be in good general medical health (medically fit).
Desirable Criteria
- Proven experience in a similar role within a nursing or care home environment is preferred.
- Management skills are required for a care team.
