Job Description

Care Assistants (Day shift) to join Our Lady’s Care Home, Belfast. This vital role supports nursing staff in providing care for residents’ social, emotional and physical needs.

Location

Our Ladys Home, 68 Ard Na Va Road, Belfast

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, eating and mobility.
  • Deliver excellent quality, person‑centred care to all residents.
  • Enrich residents’ lives through the delivery of activities.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with patient care.
  • Support the nursing team with compliance policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible to provide one‑to‑one care as required.

Ideal Candidate / Requirements

  • Ability to deliver a high standard of resident care.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Cooperative communication and collaboration with other staff members.
  • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
  • High standard of personal presentation and attention to detail.
  • Good standard of verbal and written English.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Required Criteria

  • Ability to communicate with the elderly.
  • Ability to work set hours with flexibility to meet organisational needs.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Good general medical health.

Desired Criteria

  • Current NVQ in care.
  • Knowledge of the Care of the Elderly Patients Charter of Rights.
  • Experience in a caring background or setting.
  • Ability to move and handle patients.

Additional Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the UK; no sponsorship provided.
  • Successful candidate must register with NISCC and undergo an enhanced access NI check.
  • Criminal conviction disclosure required; failure to disclose will lead to withdrawal of offer.
