Relief Registered Staff Nurse – Arlington Private Nursing Home, 9 North Parade, Belfast.

Job Summary

Provide high‑quality clinical care to residents in a relief capacity, supporting the nursing team with tailored care plans, medication management, record keeping, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ensure compliance with NMC, RQIA, HSCT, and other regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver care in compliance with NMC, RQIA, HSCT and health‑safety guidelines.
  • Develop and review tailored care plans for residents.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care.
  • Make clinical decisions using professional judgement.
  • Administer medicines and maintain accurate medication charts.
  • Maintain resident records and documentation.
  • Provide professional support and guidance to care staff.
  • Create a safe, supportive environment that enhances residents’ quality of life.

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, or RNLD) with current NMC registration.
  • Knowledge of PREPP, Primary Nursing, Care Planning and the Patients Charter.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements including RQIA, HSCT and health‑safety guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload efficiently while maintaining high standards of care.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, patient‑centred approach.
  • Commitment to promote and safeguard residents’ well‑being.
  • Flexibility to work set hours and adapt to organisational needs.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and a valid work permit.
  • Good general medical health (medically fit).
  • Willingness to register with NISCC.

Desirable Criteria

  • Proven experience in a similar nursing or care‑home role.
  • Management skills for leading a care team.
  • Experience nursing the elderly in a care‑home environment.
  • Demonstrable team‑lead and management experience.
  • At least one year’s experience in a comparable role.
