The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
To coordinate site operational resources across Mackley. Responsible for all recruitment and use of agency labour, including ensuring the adoption of appropriate labour supply agreements as approved by the commercial team. Liaison with the Area Managers to smooth resources and to prioritise based on business need. Maximise use of internal labour, develop staff and work with HR to manage training and operational qualifications. Step in to troubleshoot operational challenges on projects and support the site teams where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-contract: Forecast site staff needs based on opportunity pipeline, including skills, geography and qualifications.
- Internal Collaboration: Establish and actively promote working relationships between all departments, through effective communication and ensuring Company procedures are followed. Receive resource requirements on contracts from Area Managers and plan allocation of labour & plant.
- Compliance: Work to and within the Mackley Integrated Management System, company policies & procedures. Ensure that projects are resourced to enable compliance with all HSE legislation and rules. Ensure compliance with working hours, timesheet process, expenses, use of company vans etc.
- People: Monitor the morale & motivation of the team. Communicate the company objectives & maintain regular information sharing relevant to the team. Support & encourage staff to take ownership of their own development & training & promote a culture of openness and honesty. Ensure that site managers are dealing with performance issues & training needs in accordance with the company HR procedures & assist when required. Monitor performance standards & manage expectations. Manage rewards, awards, grievance & disciplinary matters. Define changing skill requirements for the team, coach & mentor to enhance knowledge, skills & behaviours. Maintain regular 1-2-1s with site managers to discuss & agree personal and team objectives, learning needs & goals. As required, attend training sessions, conferences & meetings in line with our commitment to Investors in People.
Required qualifications, skills, experience
- Skills & Knowledge: Construction-related procedures and processes. Ability to relate to a broad range of site and office personnel.
- Experience: Deep and broad experience in an operational role within construction. In-depth knowledge and experience of HSEQ legislation and standards. Experience developing and implementing effective teams.
- Technology skills: Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams). Experience with digital reporting tools, construction and contract management packages.
- Training: Full UK driving licence (essential). CSCS card, SMSTS or equivalent site safety certification.
- Qualifications: HNC/D or equivalent in Civil Engineering, or related discipline. NVQ level 6/7.
