Job Purpose
To manage and coordinate the safe installation, integration, testing and commissioning of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) systems within water, utilities and civil engineering bias projects. The role ensures that mechanical, electrical and ICA works are delivered efficiently, safely and in accordance with project specifications, programme requirements and statutory regulations, whilst maintaining effective coordination with civil construction activities.
Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage MEICA bias projects during design phase and on site, ensuring integration between civil, mechanical, electrical and ICA disciplines.

Plan, supervise and monitor the installation of mechanical plant, electrical equipment, instrumentation and control systems.

Be responsible for writing Construction phase plans, Method Statements and Risk assessments and ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

Enforce compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations and company procedures.

Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to achieve programme, quality and safety objectives.

Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients and operational stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Monitor site progress and resolve technical, operational and logistical issues.

Chair internal weekly and monthly progress meetings and be responsible for collating the monthly progress reports.

Manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure quality standards Coordinate testing, commissioning and handover activities to ensure assets are ready for operation.

Support buildability reviews, value engineering initiatives and effective management of the MEICA supply chain.

Ensure works are delivered in live operational environments with minimal disruption to existing assets and services.

Maintain accurate site records, reports and documentation.
Required qualifications, skills & experience
Skills & knowledge
-
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems.

Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and infrastructure projects.
-
Understanding of industry standards, including CESWI, WIMES and relevant utility sector specifications.

Strong coordination and leadership skills across multiple engineering disciplines.

Excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Knowledge of quality assurance, inspection and testing requirements.

Commercial awareness with the ability to support value engineering and supply chain management.

Thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice within construction and engineering environments.
Experience
-
Proven experience as a MEICA Site Manager, Site Manager, Site Agent or Site Supervisor within water, utilities or regulated infrastructure sectors.

Experience managing multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering and construction projects.

Demonstrable experience of working in live operational environments.

Experience managing testing, commissioning and asset handover activities.

Track record of delivering projects safely, on programme and to quality standards.
