Job Purpose
Working closely with the Accountants, the Finance Assistant will undertake the responsibilities outlined below, providing high-quality financial and accounting support to ensure timely reporting, effective financial governance and informed decision making across the organisation.
As part of a Finance Department striving to be best in class, the role supports the delivery of the corporate strategy through robust financial reporting, strong business partnering and a consistent approach to ways of working throughout.
Responsibilities

Work to and within the Mackley Integrated Management System, company policies & procedures & communicate with your line manager.

Ensure accurate allocation of costs & timely processing of financial documentation including UK and overseas documents.

Liaising with project team & project cost consultants to confirm project costings are complete and support audit requirements.

Work with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve account queries and maintain accurate financial records.

Support the team in ensuring payment of suppliers and subcontractors in line with company terms.

Complete daily bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash records

Assist the Accountants with fully reconciled schedules & analysis of financial control accounts for management Pack.

Contribute to the productions of the weekly Debtors Report, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Assist with departmental budgets and annual planning cycles.

Support the preparation of taxation schedules and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

Assist the external audit team by providing financial information and resolving queries.

Help ensure the finance team meets all internal and external deadlines.
Required qualifications, skills, experience

Previously held a role in an accounting environment

Account processes ideally within the construction industry

IT Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, (PowerPoint, Power BI desirable)

Software: Microsoft Business Central and any other accounting software (construction specific β desirable)

Jet Reports or similar reporting tool

Procore/SharePoint (desirable)

Full driving licence or access to transport
Qualifications

AAT or preferably part qualified ACCA/CIMA.
