We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong technical background in electrical, mechanical, and automation systems, combined with leadership qualities and customer service skills. The Maintenance Engineer will play a vital role in maintaining safety standards, improving operational efficiency, and supervising maintenance activities across the site.

We have availability on these stabilised shifts: Monday to Friday 6.30am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am (not continental; your shift is stable only moving if cover required elsewhere) or Friday 7am-3pm, Saturday and Sunday 6-6. Please let us know on application your preferred shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Programme, operate, and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to ensure automation systems function correctly.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment components.
  • Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings to diagnose issues accurately.
  • Lead maintenance projects, supervising technicians and contractors to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in training junior team members on maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in maintenance engineering within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong electrical experience with knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Mechanical knowledge including welding skills and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems and preventive maintenance programmes.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to address internal stakeholders' needs professionally.
