Main Purpose of the job: Responsible for identifying, developing, supporting, and delivering new and existing business opportunities within the South-west region which will help the company achieve its sales target plus its business strategic objectives. To promote the Company and the companies brand by working with the Merchant head offices, branches, Consultants, Specifiers, Design Houses, OEMs, and all other customers to maximise opportunities and make sales throughout the supply chain for the companies product range with particular emphasis on the valve & actuator portfolio. Focus on water utility, large commercial and industrial end-user application.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Implementing a robust and sustainable business activity to demonstrate year on year growth to meet the company's strategic aims, goals and objectives plus the pull and push strategy.
- Identify key influencers within the customers and region to develop business, new product launches and Marketing strategies and make the client a tier one or a preferred supplier.
- Setting, negotiating, and implementing all agreed teams and conditions (T&C's) with their customers.
- Identify new business opportunities within the customers in the region and develop into orders.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and margins set by the client and the UK Sales Director.
- Assist in the development of sales and marketing literature and associated documents to improve the companies brand awareness and recognition.
- Provide the main source of expertise to the company on business development issues in relation to the North & Scotland region.
- Update the company CRM system with all information on all designated customers including orders and projects.
- Maintain all required records of sales and other relevant information to enable performance to be measured, monitored, qualified and quantified.
- Conduct product training, demonstrations through hosting lunch & learn & CPD training sessions.
- To support new and existing customers with product specifications & selection.
- Support the Sales Leader within the clients Head Office to report performance, business, business growth, aims, goals and objectives and other reports back to the shareholder and the business.
- To follow the Company's and Group's internal and external procedures.
- To carry out any such other duties that may reasonably be requested of you.
Education: Engineering or mechanical qualification, degree-level or equivalent.
Management: This role has no direct reports.
Experience, skills and qualities:
- At least three years’ experience & proven track record within relevant industry.
- Proven sales track record through a range of channels such as Solution sales, Wholesalers, Distributors, Consultants, Developers, OEM’s, Valves Companies and End Users.
- Excellent Commercial knowledge and experience.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- An extensive understanding of the industry and the customers within the industry.
- Excellent capability of IT systems including Microsoft office, CRM systems (Salesforce).
