Mackinnon Bruce, on behalf of a long-standing client, is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join a leading organisation within the wood-based panel space, as an Area Sales Manager for the South, covering down from Birmingham.

We’re seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive growth across the South region. This role focuses on building a strong customer network within distribution, industry, and project channels while promoting a high-value technical product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, relationship development, and closing.
  • Grow regional sales through regular customer visits and new business acquisition.
  • Expand distribution presence and strengthen industrial customer partnerships.
  • Engage with architects and project stakeholders to support specifications.
  • Represent the business at events, trade shows, and client meetings.
  • Identify customer needs, propose solutions, and manage offers, orders, and deliveries.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and product developments.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (marketing, supply chain, customer service).
  • Support claims processes and maintain accurate reporting, budgets, and CRM/SAP updates.
Requirements:
  • Strong B2B sales background, including specification and project sales, with a track record of hitting targets.
  • Experience in manufacturing or technical products, ideally wood-based or related materials.
  • Knowledge of multi-channel sales environments and MTO manufacturing beneficial.
  • Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills and customer focus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.
  • Ability to travel across the region as required.
