Legal Counsel

Legal Counsel | Renewable Energy & Battery Storage

Our client is an established international renewable energy business developing, building, owning and operating utility-scale battery energy storage projects across the UK and Europe. Backed by significant investment and entering its next phase of growth, the business is expanding its legal team. This is an opportunity to develop a broad in-house skill set while supporting projects and transactions across an international energy business.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will work alongside legal, compliance and commercial colleagues across UK and European operations. The remit spans corporate transactions, due diligence, commercial contracts and governance. You will gain practical exposure to how an infrastructure business operates, supporting both day-to-day legal matters and wider transactional activity.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing data rooms and supporting due diligence processes
  • Managing transaction document lists and drafting board minutes, shareholder resolutions and other ancillary documents
  • Supporting disclosure exercises for M&A transactions
  • Drafting and reviewing procurement and general commercial contracts
  • Assisting with governance, statutory registers and Companies House filings
  • Conducting legal research and analysis
  • Supporting the resolution of disputes and claims, working with external counsel where required

What We're Looking For

  • A solid foundation in UK company law
  • Experience managing data rooms and supporting due diligence
  • Experience drafting ancillary transaction documents and managing document lists
  • Exposure to commercial and procurement contracts
  • Strong organisational skills, initiative and a genuine interest in renewable energy

Previous renewable energy experience is a bonus, not a prerequisite.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to build their in-house career alongside experienced legal colleagues. You will develop practical experience across transactions, contracts and governance, with exposure to international teams and commercial stakeholders.
