We are seeking an experienced Quarry Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of a busy aggregates quarry in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quarry operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation while delivering production targets, controlling costs, and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all quarry operations to achieve production, quality and financial targets.
- Promote and maintain a strong health, safety and environmental culture, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and company standards.
- Ensure compliance with the Quarries Regulations 1999, Health & Safety at Work Act, Environmental Permits and relevant industry standards.
- Manage drilling, blasting, extraction, crushing, screening and stockpile operations.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand while maximising plant utilisation.
- Manage operational budgets, monitor costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Lead, coach and develop operational teams, contractors and supervisors.
- Coordinate maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
- Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Build strong relationships with regulatory authorities, local communities and key stakeholders.
- Prepare operational reports, KPIs and performance updates for senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, production and operational performance.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quarry Manager, Assistant Quarry Manager or Senior Quarry Supervisor within the aggregates industry.
- Strong understanding of quarry operations, including drilling & blasting, crushing, screening and materials processing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Experience managing operational budgets and production performance.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to improve operational efficiency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quarry management systems.
