The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Account Manager to drive growth across the UK market for a cutting-edge laboratory automation and AI-enabled workflow platform. This is a high-impact, consultative sales role where you will engage with senior stakeholders, identify opportunities to improve research productivity, and deliver enterprise-level solutions that create measurable value for customers. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with a genuine interest in scientific innovation and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to drive new business and revenue growth across the UK.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert opportunities within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, and materials science organisations.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders, technical stakeholders, and key decision-makers.
  • Understand customer R&D challenges and align solutions to business and scientific objectives.
  • Deliver compelling commercial and technical presentations, demonstrations, and business cases.
  • Collaborate with internal technical and application specialists throughout the sales cycle.
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales process, from prospecting to contract completion.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide reliable sales forecasts.
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Act as a trusted advisor while maintaining long-term customer relationships and account growth.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of successful sales experience within life sciences, laboratory technology, scientific instrumentation, automation, chemicals, or materials science sectors.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience selling complex, high-value solutions involving multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles.
  • Strong network within research, development, and innovation-focused organisations.
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior executives, scientists, and technical teams.
  • Experience using CRM platforms to manage pipelines and forecasts.
  • Naturally curious, commercially driven, and motivated by solving customer challenges.
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based role and travelling as required.
