Meta Reality Labs (RL) is seeking a proactive, highly organised and commercially minded Distribution Channel Specialist to support the management of our Long Tail retail accounts across the UK and EU, together with the marketing, promotional and budget activities that support them. This role sits at the heart of the day-to-day running of our retail distribution business, ensuring that smaller and mid-sized retail partners receive a consistent, best-in-class experience while our marketing and promotional investment is planned, executed and tracked with discipline.
The role will also act as a direct support to the Distribution Manager for Retail UK & EU, helping with business planning, partner communication, reporting and execution of channel initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about Meta’s mission and the potential of augmented and virtual reality, enjoys working across many partners and stakeholders at once, is comfortable with data and budgets, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Responsibilities
- Long Tail account management: Support the day-to-day management of Long Tail retail accounts across the UK and EU, acting as a first point of contact for partner queries, onboarding, product and pricing information, and general commercial support.
- Partner enablement: Ensure Long Tail partners have up-to-date product, merchandising, pricing and go-to-market assets, and that launch and promotional information is communicated on time and consistently.
- Marketing and promotion execution: Coordinate retail marketing and promotional activities across the channel, including in-store and online presence, seasonal and launch campaigns, retailer co-marketing initiatives and demo programmes, working with internal marketing and channel teams.
- Budget management and tracking: Help plan, track and reconcile marketing, promotional and co-op budgets for the retail channel — monitoring spend versus plan, maintaining accurate records, raising purchase requests, chasing invoices and flagging risks or under/over-spend.
- Performance reporting: Build and maintain reporting on Long Tail account performance, sell-in and sell-through, promotional effectiveness and marketing ROI, and translate the data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Support to the Distribution Manager for Retail UK & EU: Provide direct support on business reviews, partner meeting preparation, quarterly business planning, forecasting inputs, pricing and promotion proposals, and follow-up on actions across the retail channel.
- Process and operational efficiency: Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate recurring channel, marketing and budget processes, and help document ways of working so they scale across many accounts and markets.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, sales operations, supply chain, finance and partner-facing teams to ensure smooth execution of channel activities and timely resolution of issues.
- Market insight: Monitor competitive activity, retail trends and partner feedback across UK & EU markets, and share insights that help shape the channel strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in retail, distribution, channel sales, account management, trade marketing or sales operations, ideally within consumer electronics or a comparable fast-moving category.
- Experience supporting or managing marketing and promotional activity in a retail environment, including budget tracking. Strong analytical and numeracy skills, with proven ability to work with sales and marketing data and turn it into insight; proficiency in spreadsheets (Google Sheets and/or Excel).
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage many accounts, deadlines and priorities simultaneously and with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable dealing with external partners and internal stakeholders at different levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing a portfolio of small or mid-sized (Long Tail) retail accounts across multiple European markets. Familiarity with co-op / MDF budget processes, purchase order and invoicing workflows.
- Experience with reporting and visualisation tools utilizing AI Additional European language skills. Interest in or experience with AR/VR, wearables or emerging technology products.
