Health Care Assistant (£250 Joining Bonus)

Role Overview
This role is a Health Care Assistant at Ashgrove Care Home. Working on a rotation of day and night duty, the position offers a £250 joining bonus.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide high‑level care to residents, supporting with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and all aspects of daily living as per individual needs.
- Observe and record care‑planning needs, completing daily records in line with company policy and procedure.
- Follow competency‑based training and, under the supervision of the Unit/Home Manager, manage medication: store correctly, administer under policy and professional guidelines, and coordinate supplies with the pharmacy.
- Ensure audits are completed, and report and record any discrepancies in line with the facility medicine policy.
- Utilise aids to support residents with limited mobility or physical difficulties.
- Monitor and report on the condition of palliative care/end‑of‑life residents.
- Promote the rights, dignity, privacy, respect and choice of every resident when providing care.
- Support and encourage residents to maintain independence in all aspects of daily living.
Essential Criteria
- GCSE Maths and English.
- Basic IT skills.
- Previous experience in a health‑care role (essential).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Will be required to be signed off as competent during induction training.
- Availability for a flexible shift pattern, including one‑to‑one support, evenings and weekends.
- Completion of a minimum 60% score in Level 2 of the Deprivation of Liberty module.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
