As a Temporary Tax Accountant (Projects), you will support the implementation of a new ERP system and contribute to refining tax processes, particularly around VAT reporting and compliance.
- Assist in the embedding of new VAT procedures within the ERP system
- Analyse and report VAT exceptions and errors for resolution
- Provide advice and guidance on VAT processes and correct accounting methods
- Process departmental requests ensuring accurate tax set-ups
- Prepare and reconcile VAT Returns for review and submission
- Support tax reporting for audits and corporate tax submissions
- Respond to general tax queries and provide key financial information
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring tax accuracy, supporting process improvement and working closely with internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate tax records and reconcile VAT Returns to the general ledger
- Assist with corporation tax return preparation and payment calculations
- Contribute to external audit processes by supplying financial information
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and tax legislation
- Liaise with external auditors when required
- Promote effective governance and risk management in tax processes
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
- Qualified with strong accounting and tax knowledge
- Good knowledge of VAT principles (including partial exemption)
- Housing sector or property development knowledge
- Organised, proactive and able to work independently and in a team
- IT literate with good MS Office skills; intermediate Excel essential
- Experience with Unit4/Agresso/Business World is desirable
