Our Client Mackie Myers have partnered with a well‑established, mission‑led membership organisation to appoint a Management Accountant / Junior Finance Business Partner into their collaborative finance team. The organisation plays a key role within its sector and offers the opportunity to contribute to work with real social impact.
The Management Accountant / Junior FBP will support the delivery of accurate management information while working closely with budget holders across the organisation. This role combines strong technical management accounting with stakeholder focused finance partnering, providing insights to support decision making, budgeting, and effective financial control within a not for profit environment.
Main Duties
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts and reporting packs
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and detailed P&L variance analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, working closely with non-finance stakeholders
- Act as a Junior Finance Business Partner to directorates, providing financial insight and challenge
- Prepare and review VAT returns and support statutory accounts and audit processes
- Maintain and analyse cashflow forecasts, highlighting key risks and opportunities
- Ensure strong financial controls and contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes
- Support systems development and reporting enhancements
- Assist with ad hoc analysis and finance projects as required
The Successful Candidate
- Part Qualified (or finalist) studying CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
- Solid technical management accounting experience, ideally within a not-for-profit or membership-based organisation
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Organised, detail‑oriented, and keen to develop a career in finance business partnering
