Our client is looking for an Interim Head of Property to lead their Property Acquisitions team on a 12–18-month FTC.
Our client is a scaling private equity backed nursery group, with ambitious organic growth plans over the coming year. With 40+ sites already open, they need someone to come in and lead and own the deliverables and drive forward the expansion of their new sites.
Overview
The Role
- Lead organic estate growth from initial site identification through to successful site launch.
- Own and lead the full deal cycle – sourcing sites, negotiating heads of terms, managing due diligence, and finalising lease agreements.
- Oversee all planning activities, including applications, consents, change-of-use, and engagement with local authorities.
- Develop commercial models for subletting to franchise partners, ensuring profitable structures and long‑term sustainability.
- Oversee design, fit‑out and construction, working closely with external contractors, architects, and PM teams to deliver sites on time and on budget.
- Ensure sites are operationally ready for opening, coordinating with Operations, Finance and external partners to guarantee a seamless handover.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all landlord, franchise, planning and property‑related legal matters.
- Use data and insight to drive estate optimisation, investment prioritisation, and long‑term growth strategy.
The Successful Candidate
- Proven experience within the UK real estate or commercial property sector.
- Demonstrable success in sourcing, securing, and delivering new sites within a scaling or multi‑site business.
- Confident stakeholder management with clear communication and board‑level exposure.
- Analytical, data‑driven, and able to balance pace with strategic thinking.
