Our client is a leading PE backed international education group seeking a Group Head of Technical Accounting to join their finance team.
The Group Head of Technical Accounting will provide technical accounting expertise across the Group, ensuring compliance with IFRS and supporting high-quality financial reporting. Key areas include acquisition accounting (including PPA), impairment reviews, policy development, and ad hoc technical projects.
Main Duties
- Lead technical accounting projects: acquisitions, PPA, impairment assessments, provisions, leases, and financial instruments.
- Maintain and roll out Group accounting policies; monitor new IFRS standards and communicate impacts.
- Provide ad hoc technical support globally; prepare technical papers and documentation.
- Support audit processes and technical disclosures; liaise with external auditors.
- Drive improvements in accounting quality and controls across the Group.
The Successful Candidate
- ACA qualified with a Big 4 background and 5+ years PQE.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, impairment testing, and acquisition accounting experience.
- Experience in a listed business.
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about technical accounting.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with varied projects.
