We are supporting a Watford-based business recruiting a Financial Controller. This is a newly-created position which sees you working closely with senior finance and offers great exposure across the business. It's a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional looking to grow in a dynamic and creative environment.

Main Duties

  • Take ownership of day-to-day financial operations, including bank reconciliations, journals, and balance sheet management.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all ledgers and entities.
  • Support the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring all compliance and reporting standards are met.
  • Lead and mentor junior finance staff, ensuring high-quality transactional processing (AP/AR).
  • Partner with the Finance Director to support wider forecasting, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives, maintaining and strengthening internal controls.

The Successful Candidate

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Strong audit background (ideally from a Top 10 firm).
  • Technical grounding, with experience in management and financial reporting.
  • Previous team management experience, including oversight of transactional staff.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel skills and systems experience.
  • Media or Production industry exposure is a bonus.
