Mackie Myers is partnering with a leading international. As the organisation continues to grow its global reach and impact, they are seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join their finance team and take ownership of day-to-day financial operations.
The Role
This is an hands-on interim Senior Finance Officer position focused primarily on transactional finance, payroll and month-end processes. Working closely with the wider finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the organisation's financial operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and payroll. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, including supplier invoices, payment runs and expense claims.
- Processing accounts receivable transactions and ensuring income is accurately recorded.
- Completing monthly bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate cash records.
- Maintaining and reconciling key balance sheet control accounts.
- Processing journals and supporting month-end close activities.
- Administering and processing the monthly payroll.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ledger integrity.
- Supporting the management of restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Responding to finance queries from colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Contributing to process improvements and ensuring strong financial controls are maintained.
The Successful Candidate
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Senior Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant or Bookkeeper role.
- Strong accounts payable and accounts receivable experience.
- Experience processing payroll and payroll journals.
- Proven experience completing bank reconciliations and maintaining ledgers.
- A sound understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles.
- Experience supporting month-end processes and posting journals.
- Confident working independently and able to identify when to seek guidance.
- Previous charity sector experience is essential.
- Desirable: experience using NetSuite.
