MacKenzie King is proud to once again be partnering with a successful and growing local business to recruit an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, dynamic finance team and provide key support to the Management Accountant. The successful Senior Accounts Assistant candidate will have experience across both sides of the ledger, be confident managing multiple weekly payment runs, and take a proactive approach to reducing outstanding customer debt through effective credit control. In addition, the Senior Accounts Assistant will have the opportunity to support the Management Accountant with a range of responsibilities, including VAT returns, payroll processing, and the preparation of monthly management accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Process/match purchase invoices
  • Set up new supplier/customer accounts and maintain existing account details within the ledgers on Sage and CRM
  • Monthly reconciliations of supplier statements
  • Payment Runs
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Process credit card transactions
  • Process employee expenses
  • Payment/receipt allocations on to Sage, with precision and recording retention deductions
  • Credit control
  • Assist in CIS payments and monthly return
  • Assist in quarterly VAT return
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Assist in developing procedures and checklists to support all accounting routines
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the information transferred from the CRM system to Sage.
  • Possible payroll processing on Sage payroll
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register.
  • Other ad hoc duties
