MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Senior Accounts Assistant to join an ambitious, growing company in Chelmsford. Working directly alongside the Head of Finance, the Senior Accounts Assistant will take ownership of the Purchase Ledger function, whilst supporting with month-end and taking on increasing responsibility over time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transactional finance experience who is looking to broaden their skillset and take on greater responsibility alongside their studies.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Own the purchase ledger end to end
- Manage the accounts payable inbox
- Post and reconcile credit cards
- Post and reconcile bank accounts
- Prepare and make supplier payments
- Run supplier statement reconciliations
- Produce aged creditor reporting
- Resolve supplier queries
- Maintain supplier master data and new supplier setup
- Oversee the daily work package sent to the offshore data entry team and handle queries back
- Assist with month end close
- Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Support balance sheet reconciliations across control accounts
- Produce and circulate regular financial reports
- Ad hoc analysis as required
- Act as assistant to the Head of Finance on day to day finance matters
- Provide cover and support to colleagues across the finance team
