MacKenzie King is excited to be recruiting for a Financial Accountant role at an impressive, private equity-backed start-up based in Ipswich. Working closely with the Finance Director, this role involves managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Post and process journal entries to record all business transactions.
- Prepare revenue recognition accounting entries.
- Manage accruals and prepayments.
- Perform reconciliations.
- Assist in processing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Post staff costs and expenses.
- Process payments for daily operating expenses via online banking.
- Reconcile bank and cash transactions to ensure records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
- Support variance analysis and provide commentary for board and management reporting.
- Assist in collating VAT and tax return information.
- Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and audit activities.
- Assist in preparing regulatory returns.
- Help establish and maintain processes and control documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and respond to queries.
- Support ad-hoc financial projects, including process improvements and system enhancements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant.
