Senior Operations Manager — Fast-Growing FMCG SME
Location: Guildford, Surrey (Hybrid working, 4 days per week office based)
Hours: 30 hours per week (generally 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with occasional evening calls as needed)
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 Per annum + Benefits
A fast-growing FMCG SME is seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Manager to support the set-up, implementation, and expansion of operations in the US market. In addition, this role will involve managing special projects related to the UK and other international markets. This is an opportunity for an experienced operations professional to contribute to a dynamic and ambitious team while maintaining a strong work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee onboarding and logistics for US clients and distributors
- Establish and manage 3PL cold storage hubs
- Handle order processing, freight forwarding, and shipments
- Coordinate with manufacturers and import agents
- Set up new products and develop costing models
- Handle food technical queries and compliance
- Design and implement operational processes for efficiency and scale
- Plan and coordinate trade events, travel, and packaging development
- Support the Operations Director with special projects
Key Requirements:
- A Senior Operations Manager with international and/or supply chain experience, looking for a role with reduced hours
- Experience in international operations, logistics, and business processes
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to multitask
- Proficiency in Excel and inventory management systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of exports, supply chain, and food sector compliance (preferred)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
