- IT Support Engineer – 2nd Line – Permanent
- Location
Onsite Monday to Friday during term time.
Role shared between 2 schools – 3 days in Blackheath, London and 2 days in Hampstead, London (expenses covered for travel to Hampstead).
Flexibility to work from home or reduced hours during school holiday periods.
Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Overview
You’ll be supporting approximately 850 pupils and over 100 staff across two well‑established independent schools using a mix of Microsoft365, Google Workspace, Windows, Mac Books and i Pads.
Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd line IT support for end‑user devices (Windows PCs, laptops, desktops, i Pads and tablets).
- Administration of Microsoft365 and Google Workspace.
- Manage mobile device management (MDM) with Intune for i Pads and mac OS.
- Configure and support Windows10/11 systems.
- Support basic networking functions including TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, VPN, SSL and IPSec.
- Escalate more complex networking issues to external MSP.
- Assist with audio/visual devices such as projectors and interactive displays.
- Implement security policies including firewall, antivirus, web filters and other security measures.
- Support Vo IP communications and telephony systems.
- Deliver excellent communication and organisational skills, proactively engaging users.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2nd line IT support engineer or system administrator experience.
- Education sector experience advantageous.
- Experience with Microsoft365 Administration.
- Experience with Google Workspace Administration.
- Experience with MDM – Intune for i Pad and mac OS MDM solutions.
- Experience with Entra ID.
- Experience with Windows10/11 Administration and Support.
- Hardware and software support – installation, configuration and deployment.
- Basic networking knowledge – TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, VPN, SSL, IPSec.
- Familiarity with Cisco and Ubiquiti wireless infrastructure advantageous.
- Experience with audio/visual, security (firewall, AV, web filters, security policies) and Vo IP/telephony preferred.
- Working Hours
Onsite role. During term time, 8:30‑4:30pm. During school holidays, 9:00‑4:30pm, with flexibility to work from home where appropriate.
