We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Telehandler/Shovel Truck Operator to join our team. This role involves operating heavy machinery on a recycling site, ensuring safe and efficient movement of materials. The successful candidate will have an NSPORS ticket or equivalent and good experience using Telehandlers and Shovel Trucks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale eco-friendly projects while developing your skills within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate telehandlers and shovel trucks safely and efficiently to move materials across the site
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure proper functioning and report any faults or issues
- Assist with loading and unloading materials using excavators and other heavy equipment
- Maintain accurate records of operations, including material movements and equipment usage
- Follow all health and safety regulations to minimise risks on-site
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure project deadlines are met
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on machinery as required, including lubrication and minor repairs
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating telehandlers, shovel trucks, or similar heavy machinery in recycling or construction sites
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
- Experience working with excavators is highly desirable
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to heavy machinery operation
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Own transport required due to the location
