We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for novice and experienced drivers with a focus on HGV driving to contribute to our operational success. NEWLY PASSED DRIVERS ARE WELCOME.

Hours of work for Class 2 Hgv Driver: Monday to Friday 6am to 3pm plus overtime after 40 hours of work. Extra shifts on Saturdays available. Starting rate for Class 2 Hgv Driver is £14.53, OT rate (after 40 hours) is £21.80 per hour.

Duties

  • Operate Class 2 HGV Truck in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
  • Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely collection and drop-off of goods.
  • Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit, adhering to safety standards.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered on routes.
  • Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
  • Uphold a professional appearance and behaviour when interacting with clients and colleagues.

Experience

  • Novice Drivers are welcome.
  • Driving Licence Cat C.
  • Digital Tacho Card.
  • CPC Card.
  • Strong driving skills with no more than 6 points on driving record.
  • Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial vehicle operation.
  • Good level of physical fitness.
  • Experience in handling loads and securing cargo safely is highly desirable but not essential as training on the job will be provided.
