An opportunity has arisen to join a rapidly growing UK-based renewables developer (backed by a large renewables-focussed investment fund).
We have an ambitious strategy, a strong core team, and significant funding in place, and will be rolling out a significant number of new facilities across the UK over the next two years.
Our development programme has reached the point where we are now ready to build out the legal team as our first facilities become fully operational throughout 2025.
The Opportunity
Working alongside our Head of Legal this is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute Lawyer to join a renewable energy business undergoing significant growth.
The role offers abundant exposure to internal and external stakeholders, supporting the business with a wide range of matters including:
- New site acquisitions, construction and development, site operations and offtake arrangements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of documents including commercial agreements, construction contracts, lease documents, NDAs and planning agreements.
- Assist with financing/refinancing, acquisitions and disposals.
- Support internal governance and approval processes, including liaising with shareholders, and coordinating with compliance, finance and other internal stakeholders as appropriate.
- Carry out factual and legal research as required.
- Support on general corporate matters such as employment, data protection and company secretarial.
- Review and update policies and standard form contracts.
- Contribute to legal and compliance training and the development of other team members.
About You
You will be a qualified solicitor (c1-4+ PQE) in England & Wales either working in private practice or in-house looking to join a fast growing, renewable energy business. Experience in one or more of the following areas of law would be also beneficial Corporate, Real Estate, Construction or Renewables.
