MacIntyre is a national charity supporting people with learning disabilities. We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our friendly, supportive People Team as the trusted first point of contact for managers across a dedicated area of the organisation. This is a predominantly employee relations role.

You'll spend most of your time advising and coaching managers through ER casework β€” disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance β€” helping them handle people matters fairly, confidently and consistently.

What you'll do:

  • Lead on employee relations casework across your area, guiding managers through disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance, and producing documentation to the required legal standard.
  • Coach and guide managers as their first point of contact, building their confidence and capability in managing people.
  • Keep well-being, equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of every decision.
  • Contribute to wider People Team projects as your role develops β€” policy, HR training and organisational change, including TUPE.

What you'll bring:

  • At least three years' experience in a similar HR Advisor role with a strong employee relations focus (disciplinaries, grievances, absence, flexible working).
  • Sound working knowledge of employment law and the ability to turn policy into clear, practical advice for managers.
  • Strong coaching and relationship-building skills to help managers grow in confidence.
  • CIPD Level 5, or equivalent experience and/or qualification.
  • Experience of SEND, social care or education would be an advantage.

Why join MacIntyre?

  • Six weeks' holiday (including statutory public holidays).
  • Workplace pension scheme (3% MacIntyre contribution for eligible employees).
  • Employee Assistance Programme, plus an optional Health Cash Plan at reduced cost.
  • Blue Light Card access β€” thousands of discounts online and on the high street.
  • Life assurance, MacIntyre Sick Pay (qualifying period), Staff Savings Scheme and Rewards Scheme.
  • Genuine commitment to your CPD within a close, supportive team.
  • Standard DBS certificate (cost paid by MacIntyre).
