Every day, you'll support someone do something that matters to them
Picture this: a sunny afternoon picnic, an hour at the stables, a splash about in the pool, or just a slow walk taking in the fresh air. Back home, it might be a jigsaw on the table, a good magazine, or an impromptu living room disco. That's a normal day supporting the people we work with at MacIntyre. We're looking for a Support Worker to join our team, helping five adults with learning disabilities and/or epilepsy to live life on their own terms. Everyone we support has their own personality, their own goals, and their own idea of a good day - and you'll be right there alongside them, supporting to make it happen. No two shifts are ever quite the same. One day might be all about getting outdoors and active; the next might be a quiet one at home, working through a puzzle or catching up on a favourite TV show. You'll learn what makes each person tick, what makes them laugh, and what helps them feel most like themselves. What you'll actually be doing:
Supporting with the everyday stuff - cooking, cleaning, life admin Helping people stay healthy, active, and independent Being alongside people while they do the things they enjoy Building trust, having a laugh, and being a steady, reliable presence Encouraging new experiences and celebrating the wins, big and small Being a familiar, dependable face people can count on #IND About you
Experience isn't always necessary. If you have the right attitude, good customer service skills, share our values and are willing to learn, you're likely to be a great fit. We are looking for people who celebrate differences, and we strive to make all our staff feel included, valued and respected.
