Contract: Full-time, 52 weeks per year

Hours: 38 hours per week

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Some of the most important learning happens far from a classroom desk. If you believe that, and you care about helping young people with additional needs grow in confidence, skills and independence, this could be the role for you.

Do you have SEN experience, and the drive to lead and inspire a team? Whether you hold a Level 3 qualification and want to work towards Level 4 with MacIntyre's support, or you already have a Level 5, we'd love to hear from you.

At MacIntyre, we believe everyone deserves a gloriously ordinary life, full of choice, purpose, relationships and opportunities that matter. We offer personalised education to young people with learning disabilities and/or social, emotional and mental health needs. Learning happens wherever it makes the most sense: at home, in the community, at college, in the workplace and beyond.

About the role

You'll lead and support a team of Community Teaching Assistants, helping them deliver creative, person-centred education that prepares young people for adult life. Alongside learners, families and professionals, you'll shape learning programmes built around each young person's strengths, interests and EHCP outcomes. Whether it's catching a bus, shopping independently, volunteering or trying something completely new, you'll help young people grow in confidence, communication, independence and connection to their community.

As a leader, you'll:

  • Coach, mentor and develop your team through guidance, training and regular feedback.
  • Observe practice, share ideas and nurture a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Track learner progress, making sure learning is well planned, evidenced and celebrated.
  • Work hand in hand with families and professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.

You'll also spend one day a week (or the equivalent) working directly with learners, modelling creative approaches and staying close to everyday practice. If you're ready to inspire a team and help young people build fulfilling lives on their own terms, we'd love to hear from you.

About you

We're looking for someone who shares our belief that education should open doors to ordinary, meaningful lives. You'll have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification or PGCE.
  • Experience supporting autistic young people and/or young people with learning disabilities, or social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Experience leading, coaching or managing others.
  • Creativity, curiosity and the confidence to think differently about learning.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A commitment to person-centred practice and high-quality outcomes.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as travel across Oxfordshire is an essential part of the role.

About us

No Limits is part of the national charity MacIntyre. We provide bespoke integrated education and support programmes for young people with autism and/or a learning disability. We have long recognised that a conventional classroom education is not right for every pupil. We ensure young people get the support they need as early as possible.

Learn and grow with us

Wherever you're starting from, we'll help you succeed. You'll receive a full induction, a mix of online and face-to-face training, and mentoring from experienced colleagues while you learn the role. As your career develops, you'll have access to ongoing learning, professional qualifications where relevant, and opportunities to progress, all fully supported by MacIntyre.

Pay and benefits

Alongside your salary, you'll enjoy a range of benefits including:

  • 5.6 weeks' annual leave per year including public holidays
  • Pension scheme
  • Paid DBS check
  • Health and wellbeing support, including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Shopping discounts through Blue Light Card and our staff discounts scheme
  • Ongoing training and career development
