We are looking for a Support Worker who is honest, respectful, fun, compassionate and kind. The role supports adults with learning disabilities to live meaningful, fulfilling lives. No previous experience is required – we value the right attitude and provide full training.
Responsibilities
- Talk to people and treat them like adults.
- Support people to do things themselves, even if it takes longer.
- Listen and avoid talking down or being bossy.
- Include and empower people to make decisions about their own lives.
- Be kind and patient with all individuals.
- Support tasks such as visiting families.
- Use the car to go to cafés, shops or other places.
- Help make the most of gardens and outdoor activities.
- Ensure safety inside and outside the home.
- Assist with crafts and play games, such as Wii or golf.
- Take people swimming or climbing.
About you
Experience is not necessary. You should have a positive attitude, good customer service skills, share our values and be willing to learn. A manual driving licence is desirable.
