Relief Support Worker role providing support 24/7 across two locations. Flexible hours including weekends, waking nights or weekdays. UK manual driving licence required.
How Relief hours work
It's a flexible contract where you choose when to work. You will receive training towards professional qualifications and can progress to permanent contracts when appropriate. Relief hours support permanent rota staff by covering vacancies due to annual leave, training or absences. Rota planning is typically one month in advance, with additional opportunities arising from unexpected absences.
So what would you be doing?
You will join a friendly team of Support Workers at one of our small, homely supported living services in Aylesbury, supporting three individuals who have been living together since 2014. They enjoy getting out and about, cycling, bowling, swimming, holidays or cinema. All three individuals are non-verbal, so you will learn how to communicate using visual tools and verbal prompts. You will help prepare homecooked meals and share family meals with the team. You will also support them with administering medication, going to the bathroom and getting ready. Full training and back-up from specialist teams and colleagues will be provided. No two days are the same, which makes the role rewarding.
About you
Experience isn’t always necessary. If you have the right attitude, are a good team player, share our values and are willing to learn, you’re likely to be a great fit. We celebrate differences and strive to make all staff feel included and welcome. Having a UK manual or automatic licence is essential.
