Are you looking for work that is truly fulfilling? Do you want a job where your influence will continue long after your shift ends? Could you support adults with a learning disability to live more independently?

You’ll join our friendly team of Support Workers who support 12 adults with learning disabilities. Their age range is 50 to 80. You’ll support them to live as independently as possible, helping them be active members of their local community and joining in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies.

If you are a good cook you are sure to be popular; food in the house isn’t just fuel, it's fun. Baking cakes and biscuits will produce a list of volunteers to taste your creations. Exploring food from different cultures is another firm favourite.

We have some talented artists who look forward to the monthly visit from Moving Waves Arts & Crafts. Can you offer creative ideas, inspiration and support between visits? Don't worry if cooking and art aren't your strong points; there is lots more going on for you to get involved in. Movie nights, karaoke, darts, football and even playing musical instruments are all popular. We also have a nice garden and everyone is looking forward to some sunshine and firing up the barbecue.

The most important thing for the people we support here is that their staff are cheerful, positive and don't rush them. As you've probably worked out, the people we support are full of life and fun to be with; could you support them to lead lives that make sense to them?

This is a full‑time role of 37.5 hours per week. Shifts are worked on a rota basis to include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Experience isn’t always necessary. If you have the right attitude, good customer service skills, share our values and are willing to learn, you’re likely to be a great fit. We are looking for people who celebrate differences, and we strive to make all our staff feel included, valued and respected. We are currently looking for support workers that hold a UK Manual driving licence.

Training and Development

At MacIntyre we fully support your training and development. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face‑to‑face training and mentoring support whilst on the job. But it doesn’t stop there - throughout your career with us you will have access to our own dedicated in‑house Learning and Development team, Quality Specialists and HR Teams. These teams, along with your Manager, will provide you with opportunities to learn and develop professionally as well as enabling and supporting you to achieve professional qualifications and career progression opportunities – all free of charge.
