Responsibilities

  • Report to the Assistant Principal and engage with the training process to carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with Mac Intyre Academies’ policies and ethos under the direction of the Principal.
  • Provide professional education and social development of a class of students’ educational provision, or a particular subject, delivering an appropriate curriculum for ages and stages.
  • Collect, record and report assessment data, attainment and progress of pupils to the Senior Leadership Team.

Foster a culture that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations of all students and educational support staff.

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the delivery of the academy’s vision, ethos, aims and objectives; enable successful learning and achievement by young people and sustained improvement in spiritual, moral, social, cultural, mental and physical well-being in preparation for adult life.
  • Address behaviours that can be challenging by teaching learners safer and more effective ways of communicating their needs; the role requires a level of physical fitness and Mac Intyre Academies will, where possible, make reasonable adjustments to comply with the Equality Act 2010.

Requirements

  • Experience or ability to engage in training processes and to carry out professional duties of a teacher in line with school policies.
  • Ability to deliver an appropriate curriculum and support the educational and social development of learners.
  • Capacity to collect and report data on pupil attainment and progress to inform leadership decisions.
  • Willingness to work with stakeholders to realise the academy’s vision and goals.
  • Physical fitness to manage classroom safety and behaviour when required; commitment to equality and inclusion under the Equality Act 2010.
