About Us
Prince Henry’s is an over-subscribed comprehensive school with over 1,660 students, including around 350 in the Sixth Form. Our Ofsted Report (November 2024) confirms us as an outstanding school across all areas. We strive for the continuous improvement of our educational provision so that our students are fully prepared for 21st century society. We serve the market town of Otley (in the Wharfe Valley) and the surrounding villages including Pool, Bramhope and Adel. Job Description
Post: Social Sciences Teacher (MPS/UPS)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Flexible between 0.4FTE – 1.0FTE
Required: September 2026
Prince Henry's Grammar School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and committed teacher of Social Sciences who is keen to motivate students, build their confidence and make learning engaging. This post would be ideal for either an ECT looking to complete their year 1 and/or 2 in a fantastic and supportive school, or indeed a more established teacher.
The Ideal Candidate
- The ability to offer at least two out of the three areas below (applications from specialists in any of the subjects are welcome):
- Law or Criminology
- Sociology
- Business Studies (KS4 or KS5)
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- The ability to teach KS4 and KS5 Social Sciences
- The ability to enthuse, inspire and motivate students
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Degree or other appropriate qualification in an appropriate Social Sciences subject
- Secondary QTS, or moving towards
- A commitment to Continuing Professional Development
