Design Technology Technician (Pendle Vale College)
Job Description
Your duties will include assisting staff in the preparation and maintenance of teaching resources and equipment for students within the Design Technology area across all subjects taught, from Food Technology to Product Design. You will also be responsible for providing administrative support to the Curriculum Area including ordering resources and maintaining stock levels, assisting in the production of classroom and corridor displays, and ensuring the safe treatment and disposal of used materials.

- Recognised and relevant NVQ Level 3
- Experience of using specific Design Technology equipment e.g. laser cutter, heavy machinery
- Standby and/or support of key applications at weekends and/or public holidays
Essential Criteria
- 4 GCSEs (Grade A*-C) or equivalent
- Experience of working within a practical environment
- Experience of working with ICT and software packages
- Experience of working within a school environment and with individual students
- Good arithmetic and written skills
- Ability to use computers for basic data input and interrogation
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
- Good communication skills and telephone manner
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to operate at a level of understanding and competence equivalent to NVQ Level 2; ability to organise workload to meet deadlines
