Macildowie Recruitment & Retention Logistics, Procurement & Supply ChainTransport Supervisor Up to £38,000 Per AnnumMonday – Friday, 9am – 6pm – AlfretonMacildowie Logistics is delighted to partner with a high growth organisation based in Alfreton to recruit a Transport Supervisor.The key objectives are to oversee the planning and delivery of logistics across the UK and Europe. This role requires a blend of operational expertise, commercial focus, and compliance knowledge, especially in European driver regulations. Main Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team, ensuring efficient collaboration and operational success.
- Manage budget control and cost-efficiency in logistics.
- Support sustainability goals and manage KPIs.
- Be available for out-of-hours contact on a standby rota (evenings, nights, weekends).
- Coordinate with the sales team to enter confirmed event details into the live planning system.
- Allocate vehicles and drivers, ensuring resources align with job requirements.
- Maintain an up-to-date plans and manage forecasts for future fleet and operational needs.
- Communicate directly with clients to finalise logistics and costs.
- Manage subcontractor relationships, ensuring cost-effective vehicle and driver supply.
- Oversee resource allocation to maximize fleet capacity and ensure timely deliveries.
- Coordinate the transport of wide loads, including necessary permits and escorts.
- Ensure all logistics, including equipment and vehicle readiness, are organized for job.
- Stay up to date on UK and European transport regulations and ensure compliance.
The Candidate
- Must hold a CPC qualification.
- Proven experience in event logistics, 3rd-party haulage, or similar environments.
- Strong financial and cost control experience.
- Knowledgeable in driver compliance, including EU CPC and other regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with strong attention to detail.
