Macildowie Procurement has exclusively partnered with a manufacturing business in Stafford to recruit a Procurement Manager. The key objective is to lead on the strategic element of our client's procurement function which includes building and growing supplier relationships as well as identifying areas where our client is able to make cost saves to help drive category growth.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure materials and services are sourced cost effectively, delivered on time and meet required specifications, while driving supplier performance in terms of quality, cost and delivery.
  • Lead the procurement team, driving performance against KPIs and improving efficiencies.
  • Manage weekly material deliveries, raise purchase orders and ensure inventory is delivered on time.
  • Monitor MRP and ensure materials are available for production and customer orders.
  • Manage the procurement budget, identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor commodity pricing.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships and manage supplier performance.
  • Lead on sourcing new materials and components for NPI projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and collaborate with internal teams to align procurement with business goals.
  • Champion sustainability by improving supply chain environmental practices.

The Candidate

  • Previous experience operating in a senior leadership procurement position.
  • A demonstrated procurement background in manufacturing.
  • Able to commute to Stafford.
  • Comfortable user of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Effective communicator and comfortable liaising with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Comfortable presenting stock/procurement related spreadsheets to stakeholders.
