Macildowie are recruiting for a Payroll & Statutory Administrator to join a well-established and highly respected independent accountancy practice based in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking for a varied role that combines client payroll responsibilities with exposure to statutory and company secretarial work.

Working within a supportive and collaborative office environment, you'll manage a portfolio of payroll clients whilst developing additional skills across statutory compliance and business administration.

The Role

You'll play a key role in delivering payroll services to a diverse range of SME clients, ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and on time whilst building strong relationships with clients. Alongside payroll, you'll support statutory administration activities including company filings, confirmation statements and other compliance-related duties. This role offers genuine variety and would suit someone who enjoys working directly with clients, thrives in a team environment and wants to broaden their experience within a professional services setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing weekly and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients.
  • Managing payroll deadlines and ensuring all submissions are completed accurately.
  • Liaising directly with clients to obtain payroll information and resolve queries.
  • Building strong client relationships and proactively managing expectations.
  • Processing payroll amendments including overtime, bonuses and statutory payments.
  • Supporting company secretarial and statutory filing activities.
  • Managing confirmation statements and Companies House‑related administration.
  • Monitoring filing deadlines and ensuring compliance requirements are met.
  • Supporting the wider team with administrative and client service activities.

About You

  • Experience gained within an accountancy practice would be advantageous, although candidates from industry payroll backgrounds who have managed multiple payrolls will also be considered.
