Spanish-Speaking Credit Controller
Location: Lenton, Nottingham
Working pattern: Hybrid – two days per week in the office
We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a well-established international business based in Nottingham. We are looking for a Spanish-speaking Credit Controller who thrives in a collaborative environment and can build strong relationships with customers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of international trade customers, processing payments accurately and ensuring customers adhere to agreed payment terms. You will proactively chase overdue balances, resolve account queries and disputes, and help maintain a healthy cash flow while providing a high standard of customer service.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of international customer accounts
- Contacting Spanish-speaking customers to secure timely payment
- Processing and allocating customer payments accurately
- Monitoring payment schedules and minimising overdue debt
- Investigating and resolving account queries and disputes
- Opening new trade accounts and assessing creditworthiness
- Maintaining accurate customer and credit records
- Identifying potential financial risks within the customer portfolio
- Building trusted relationships with customers and internal teams
- Supporting improvements to credit control processes and procedures
About you:
- Fluent or highly proficient in both written and spoken Spanish
- Previous experience within credit control, accounts receivable or a similar finance position
- Confident communicating with international customers by telephone and email
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Able to handle challenging conversations professionally and with integrity
- Commercially aware, with a good understanding of credit risk and cash flow
- Highly organised, accurate and comfortable managing a busy workload
- Proactive in resolving problems and improving processes
- Able to remain calm and professional when working under pressure
