Temporary Position - Maternity Cover - 12 months

Salary: £15.50 per hour to £16.50 per hour - Dependent on Experience

Macildowie are exclusively working with a well-established, family-owned business based in Milton Keynes to recruit a Part-Time Accounts Assistant on a 15-month assignment. This role will report directly to the Finance Controller and be part of a small, close-knit finance team. This role will focus on sales ledger, accounts receivable, and credit control, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining relationships with existing customers to ensure effective account management and timely payments.

  • Managing the sales ledger and accounts receivable function, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Building strong relationships with key customers, including distributors and SMEs, to support effective credit control.
  • Setting up new customers, performing credit checks, and agreeing on credit limits.
  • Processing customer receipts, bank transactions, and reconciliations.
  • Assisting with general finance tasks, including credit card reconciliations and audit support.

Previous credit control and sales ledger experience, ideally in a relationship-focused role.

Attention to detail with experience in handling accounts receivable and invoicing.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).

Ability to work independently and within a small finance team.
