Salary: £29,000 - £31,000pa

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - 4 days office/1 day work from home

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a busy and supportive finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be part of a small team in a friendly, collaborative, open-plan office environment. This is a hands-on opportunity offering exposure to supporting with month-end processes and management accounts preparation, plus financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and posting of accruals and prepayments
  • Posting invoice accrual journals
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations following month-end close
  • Managing reconciliations and recharge processes
  • Supporting monthly forecasting and annual budgeting
  • Assisting the Management Accountant with the production of information for the monthly accounts
  • Weekly cashbook reconciliations
  • Processing and posting journals
  • Reviewing and reconciling stock balances
  • Providing holiday cover across the finance team
  • Producing ad hoc financial reports and analysis
