We are currently working with a client who is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Accountant to support their statutory reporting and financial control requirements. This role is well suited to a qualified accountant with a strong technical accounting background and experience in statutory accounts preparation and external reporting. The position will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and a robust control environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (UK GAAP / IFRS)
- Lead and manage the year-end close process and external audit
- Prepare and review technical accounting papers and disclosures
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and reporting requirements
- Review and post complex journals, accruals, and provisions
- Support group and consolidated reporting where applicable
- Liaise with external auditors, advisors, and internal stakeholders
- Assist with tax reporting and coordination with tax advisors
- Support improvements to financial reporting processes and controls
Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA)
- Proven experience in a Financial Accountant, Statutory Accountant, or similar role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of UK GAAP and/or IFRS
- Experience managing audits and statutory reporting timetables
- High attention to detail and a strong control mindset
- Methodical, organised, and able to work to strict deadlines
- Experience in listed or regulated environments
