We are currently working with a client who is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Accountant to support their statutory reporting and financial control requirements. This role is well suited to a qualified accountant with a strong technical accounting background and experience in statutory accounts preparation and external reporting. The position will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and a robust control environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (UK GAAP / IFRS)
  • Lead and manage the year-end close process and external audit
  • Prepare and review technical accounting papers and disclosures
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and reporting requirements
  • Review and post complex journals, accruals, and provisions
  • Support group and consolidated reporting where applicable
  • Liaise with external auditors, advisors, and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with tax reporting and coordination with tax advisors
  • Support improvements to financial reporting processes and controls

Candidate Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA)
  • Proven experience in a Financial Accountant, Statutory Accountant, or similar role
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of UK GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Experience managing audits and statutory reporting timetables
  • High attention to detail and a strong control mindset
  • Methodical, organised, and able to work to strict deadlines
  • Experience in listed or regulated environments
