About the Roles
As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for delivering a designated finance function and providing expert insight to key stakeholders. Working collaboratively across departments, you will ensure financial integrity, compliance and value for money across capital and revenue programmes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading financial planning, forecasting and budget setting across your assigned area.
- Delivering clear, timely and accurate financial reporting to support decision-making.
- Providing expert advice on funding, regulations and financial governance.
- Supporting the development and improvement of financial systems and processes.
- Working closely with project teams on bids, grants and statutory returns.
- Designing and delivering training to ensure financial awareness across the authority.
- Deputising for senior finance leads when required.
What We're Looking For
We're looking to speak with qualified accountants (CCAB or equivalent) or those at the latter stages of their studies who bring:
- Significant experience in financial business partnering, ideally within a public sector or regulatory environment.
- A strong understanding of financial legislation, capital/revenue accounting and local government finance.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Whether you have a background in capital delivery, revenue management, or funding and compliance, there is scope within the team to align the right person to the right focus area.
