Job Title: Assembly Operative – Hydraulic HosesLocation: Birtley Hours: Full-Time, Monday – Friday
Overview:
We are a currently partnered with a leading supplier of high-performance hydraulic and industrial components – including hoses and assemblies, valves, pumps, motors, fittings, adaptors, quick release couplings, and oils.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for a committed and reliable individual to join their team as an Assembly Operative. This full-time position is based in Birtley and involves the assembly of hose kits, warehouse support, and occasional local deliveries.
The Role:
As an Assembly Operative, you will be a key part of the workshop and stores team, assisting in the production, assembly, and dispatch of hydraulic hose kits and related components. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, thrives in a team environment, and takes pride in high-quality service and workmanship.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Hydraulic hose assembly and testing
- General production and workshop duties
- Picking and packing orders accurately with appropriate paperwork
- Ensuring all stock movements are properly recorded
- Serving customers on the sales/collection counter
- Supporting with dispatch and delivery of goods using the company delivery van
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Supporting the wider team and external sales reps as required
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Previous experience with hydraulic hose assembly
- Understanding of hydraulic threads and hose types
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Basic product knowledge
- Strong commitment to delivering high levels of customer service
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- A good level of physical fitness – this is an active role involving standing, lifting, and operating machinery
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
