About the Role
We are pleased to be supporting a well-established and respected law firm with the appointment of a Commercial Solicitor.
This opportunity would suit a qualified solicitor with around 3-5 years’ PQE who is looking to broaden their experience, take on greater responsibility and establish themselves within a forward-thinking commercial practice.
The successful candidate will advise a varied portfolio of businesses, from emerging companies and entrepreneurial clients through to larger national and international organisations.
With a collaborative team structure and access to experienced lawyers across multiple offices, you’ll have the opportunity to work directly with clients, take ownership of your matters and play an important role in the continued development of the practice.
You will
- Handle a varied caseload covering commercial agreements, technology contracts, intellectual property and data protection.
- Draft, amend and negotiate a range of agreements and other commercial documentation.
- Take responsibility for your own matters while assisting on more complex projects alongside senior lawyers.
- Provide practical legal advice that reflects both the legal and commercial considerations facing clients.
- Develop lasting relationships with clients and understand their businesses and longer-term objectives.
- Work with colleagues across different departments and locations to provide joined-up advice.
- Get involved in client meetings, networking opportunities, seminars and other business development activity.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships and contribute to the development of the wider practice.
About You
- You’ll ideally have 3-5 years’ PQE and experience within commercial contracts, technology, IP and/or data protection.
- You’ll be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a strong grounding in relevant commercial law.
- Able to analyse complex issues and translate legal advice into clear, practical solutions.
- Commercially minded, with an appreciation of the pressures and priorities faced by businesses.
- Confident dealing directly with clients and comfortable working with stakeholders at different levels.
- A strong communicator with excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Interested in developing your own client base, network and professional profile.
