Interim Project Manager (Operational Services) – East Midlands Local Authority

Location: East Midlands
Contract: 3 - 6 Months
Hybrid Working: Typically 3 days per week on site
Start Date: September
Day Rate: Subject to experience

The Opportunity
Macildowie are delighted to be supporting one of our local authority clients in the East Midlands with the recruitment of an interim Project Manager.

Headline Responsibilities
This role is to support a key project to deliver change and improvements within their operational services delivery.

This is not an operational role – it requires someone who can quickly understand an operational environment, bring structure to complex or longstanding issues, constructively challenge managers and supervisors, and ensure that actions move from discussion to delivery.

About You
We are looking for an interim who ideally has a background in frontline operational services (grounds; waste; estate services; facilities; property etc)

Experience of working for local authority or public sector organisation is essential and you’ll have experience and skills within;

  • Strong operational management experience
  • Proven ability to improve management grip and accountability
  • Confident leadership and constructive challenge
  • Experience managing complex workforce and performance
  • Highly organised, practical and delivery-focused
